Interns

Interested in Interning with Excellis Nutrition?

Dr. Ellis is taking part-time interns for her private practice.  Interns will have individual tasks that they will be in charge of in order to gain more experience within the dietetic field (complete list of internships are listed below).  The internship will follow a hybrid or a completely remote model.  Dr. Ellis internship is designed for nutrition students desiring a few extra volunteer hours and experience.  It is not designed for individuals going through their required dietetic internship.  Hours are currently minimal and flexible which would be ideal for students but not interns who are needing to bank a lot of hours in a short period of time. Interns can expect to spend anywhere from 1-10 hours a week depending upon the internship position.  All internships through Dr. Ellis are voluntary and are not paid positions.  They are solely for the purpose of helping students gain more experience within the field and gain volunteer hours to help improve their resume.

Qualifications

- Must be a current nutrition student or recent graduate of an accredited didactic program

- Perspective nutrition interns are also welcome to apply

- Kinesiology students and students in public health may also apply for providing educational materials within their field.

- Must be organized, self disciplined, and able to work without continued guidance

- Must have access to the internet and have a working phone

- Hybrid interns must have a vehicle.  Note: if an intern attend certain functions that require payment, RD is not obligated to pay for those functions.  Parking, mileage fees,  registration for events, meals, etc. will all be at the interns responsibility.  The intern always has the option to opt out of those functions if they desire.

Dr. Ellis expects all interns to be self disciplined to complete the tasks on their own without micro-managing.  Failure to do so will result in termination of their internship.
